Honestly? If I thought getting over him was even possible, I'd try it for longer rather than jump to something drastic. But if my own murder didn't make it stop then I can't imagine him hanging all over me is going to cause much progress.
Just the emotions. Bring it down to a friendship level. If the memories are gone then people will get all freaked out.
And I wouldn't want to forget any of our history. I wouldn't feel as strongly as I do if that wasn't important. I just need the romantic love to be gone so I can be his friend, like he wants.
Sometimes murder just doesn't have the oomph others like to assume when love is in play.
All right. We'll need to do a few different rounds then. Meditation for baseline, and focus on thoughts that are as purely romantic as possible. Then back to meditation and then more friendship feelings. Then baseline and more complicated feelings of hurt and what have you.
The more guided samples I have, the easier to isolate what I need.
It should work right away on removing the emotions. Evening out depends entirely on you.
There is a feeling of vertigo when feelings have been altered by an outside source. Like you know there should be a fall, except the fall is no longer there. Now when it comes how that interacts with all over emotions, that depends how well you process things.
It'd probably be better to tell people that I'm sick for a few days. It's not common among immortals, but it does happen. This way if I'm a little off for a while it won't be a thing.
I'm hoping I'll be relieved enough that the rest of it will seem minor.
Plus there is also the ways this place can mess with abilities. Historically, immortalities and immunities are messed with second, first being any means to leave on your own. There are likely some diseases that can affect you.
I'll be by in a few days with the computer. [ Probably no great mystery that he knows your address. He did some recon before asking someone to dig in his brain. ]
The hardware is put together and I'm just about done with the schematics for the MRI machine. I should be able to do it today or tomorrow, just need a place that can contain a machine the size of a small car.
I have a line on some places. You want to meet at your place in a bit and I can take you and whatever equipment needs moved? Portals are useful for that.
Unfortunately, I will need to pass on portals for now. Leo is quite good at them, and with how difficult and energy intensive they are on the rest of our bodies, I think it'd be best to focus my energy elsewhere. My family doesn't have a need for me to learn.
[Also Leo has some ISSUES he doesn't want to needlessly provoke. Donnie knowing medic stuff is about practicalities for Leo's sake, but the portals are usually not a life or death thing and even a bedridden Leo can make them as long as he can be conscious.]
[Donnie makes Many Decisions because it'd better for his family.]
I feel pretty good. The dizziness passed quickly enough, and my mood is indescribably better than it was so I'm more or less attributing that brief bout of feeling hazy to adrenaline.
I made a point to see him, yes. It was so much easier than before. No worries, no being so overly careful. Seems like your treatment worked like a charm.
Close, yes. From very soon after we met, I knew I'd never love anyone else.
Maybe I could now, if things with him go nowhere... that is something I wouldn't even have been able to type out before, it was unthinkable. But now if there's going to be any love between us it can grow mutually instead of me tapping my foot waiting for him. And if not, he wouldn't want me hung up on him for eternity so it's better for everyone.
I don't know what the hell you did in there, but it worked like a charm.

Re: January 3, late evening
Will it work right away? If it's going to take time to even out I might need to make up an excuse for being away. Like a quest.

That is usually the hope.

But yes, come by in about two hours and I should have the entire thing built in my head.
Re: January 11, AM
I'll see you then.

So yes, still friendship feelings. At least until he does something stupid.
Re: January 12, late evening
Well, that is just the way of any close relationship.
