Noise

It starts as just irritation. A metaphorical crawling under your skin. Things are too noisy, too bright, there is too much happening all the time and you can't take it all in-

Then silence it, make it yours, make it you, take control and destroy what will not submit

It sounds so inviting, a freedom from the noise, but its wrong, its wrong, its wrong and the noise is getting louder, mechanical and foreboding as it sees you, it knows you are there, and it wants to make you apart of it.

[ Hunter scrambles away a few paces, breathing hard. ]

I ... I can't beat you. Can I?

Nothing can beat the Kraang. All the blue one did was separate Kraang Prime, but there is still sister. And there is still me and this creature. If he is not strong enough to return on his own, then the rest of us will adapt. Survive. And grow.

[The tentacles, however, are not stopping their pursuit. They are going to keep trying to grab onto Hunter.]

[ He needs to destroy this whole place, doesn't he? Won't that hurt Donnie? But - Donnie's clearly hurting already -

He hops back on his staff, dragging a bloodied hand along the floor as he starts drawing a massive glyph in this room. Fire this time. If he can scorch EVERYTHING then maybe that will help?

Or, well, that's what he's TRYING to do, until the tentacles manage to yank him off his staff this time, sending the stick flying off into the shadows of the room. ]

-- e-even if I can't help, someone else will! Everyone wants Donnie to come back to himself! We love him!

And you could love him if you just give in. We aren't trying to get rid of the purple one, or even you.

The Kraang is to bring perfection to you lesser beings.

[Turtkin has gone skittering across the floor, but there is a pulse of something in the palismen at the words. And elsewhere.]

[The turtkin scrambles up the main console, looking insides and]

[Here!]

-- What?

[ Hunter's head jolts up at htat. He thought he heard - felt? a voice.

The console ...

He struggles to his feet, holding the arm that he skidded on when he fell off the staff. Edging closer to it, trying to keep the Kraang distracted. ]

What does perfection look like? For me.

Stronger. Faster. Able to destroy all who stand in our way. No need to rely on magic trinkets to keep yourself alive.

You would never have to be afraid again.

I wouldn't be myself ever again.

[ Closer ... closer ... he lays a hand on the console. ]

You're weak as yourself. Easily hurt. Killed. You wouldn't be dead with the Kraang. Nor your little bird.

You wouldn't even have to be without your friends. After all, we are more than capable of creating interdimensional portals and we are always looking for more worlds to make perfect.

[And under the burnt and frozen tentacles on the top-]

[There is a figure in the console.]

[And a tentacle is whipping out to drag Hunter away form the console.]

[ There. He sees it. That figure - it has to be Donnie, right? Or some aspect of him that he can reach.

Hunter lunges for it, arm outstretched. ]

I already turned my back on one multi-dimensional tyrant! I'm not joining up with another one!

[ It would be a great speech except - uh. He gets caught, doesn't he? ]

[Vine grabs him and is going to]

[WHIP HIM ACROSS THE ROOM]

[Turtkin chirps in distress after him.]

Please. Belos was too narrow minded. Destroy all witchkind just because he couldn't take his brother was willing to expand his social circle.

Refusing to see what could be done by combining the two worlds, the potential power alone.

You don't belong in the console. Its a job that fries many a minds.

[ Hunter CRASHES into the wall and slides down it, temporarily stunned. He struggles to get back up onto his elbows - cries out again and clutches one arm close to his chest - before deciding to just curl up on the floor for a minute. Breathe. Breathe. He's not done yet. It's just a broken arm! He's broken his arm before. ]

What - what job? Then? What does it do?

[ The fingers on his broken arm twitch and curl, the tips sharpening a bit. ]

[Turtkin scrambling over, trying to get to Hunter again.]

Logistics. The Kraang is vast and while our connection helps, there is only so fast information can travel from individual unit to individual unit. A powerful central hub is far more efficient.

[Technodrone is also approaching Hunter.] It hurts, doesn't it?

Give in, and it doesn't have to hurt. He's waiting for you.

[ Hunter reaches out his hand for the Turtkin, then, cradling him close. Breathe. Breathe. He needs surprise on his side for this - ]

I'd rather hurt than hurt Donnie!

[ He blinks forward, past Technodrone, and just SHOVES his hand directly into the console. His fingertips converting into dark blue-gray vines, like palistrom roots, seeking out whatever it is the Turtkin wants him to find. ]

[The tentacles are reaching out for Hunter, trying to dig dig digdigdigdig-]

[The Technodrone moves to pursue Hunter, before stumbling to his knees with a snarl.] I'm fixing things, just let me handle it-

[Then a three fingered hand grabs Hunter's arm and shoves him out of the console, along with the top part of Donnie, with damage of fire, of ice, of the wounds from his fight with Korone, and what looks to be a few gunshots-]

Hunter, stop-!

-- Donnie? Is that you?

[ He's frantically reaching for that three-fingered hand, not caring at all about anything else. ]

No, no, no, stop-

[He's trying to push him away from the console, which means pulling out of the console and-]

[There's grimacing, because he's sure pulling tendrils out of his exposed back, but he needs Hunter AWAY-]

[ Sorry Donnie. Hunter winces, knowing how much this must hurt, but he surges forward to help pull out more tendrils. ]

We've got to get out of here! You - you need to come back!

Stop-

[The tentacles are reaching for Hunter, trying to wrap around him, but Donnie is quick to grab at them and jerk them away from Hunter, even as they try to dig into his arms.]

You're not supposed to be getting yourself hurt-

[ WELL. it's not like Hunter WANTS to get tentacled, but if it works ...

He swipes at them too, leaning in to scratch an awkward fire glyph onto the console. ]

Neither are you!

He is going to ruin your goals-

[There's the Technodrone, snarling, crawling over the console.]

Back off, he's not-he's just reacting, this is just going to hurt him- [Trying to get Hunter behind him, half out of the console now.]

I'll help you with your goals, Donnie! You know I will!

[ He grabs his turtle brother and YANKS backwards. ]

[Donnie screams as he's pulled back and the last of the tentacles are pulled out of his body.]

[There's blood.]

[There's a lot of blood.]

[And the Technodrone snarls, reaching out to grab at Donnie-]

[A purple wall forms between them, the Hamato symbol covering the wall.]

Just-stop! Let me think! I'll figure it out!

[The Technodrone snarls, clawing at the wall, but its standing strong.]

[ Ninpo - right -

Hunter plants himself next to Donnie, a hand out next to (but not touching) Donnie's own. Gold-gray light forms an extra layer of protection behind Donnie's, shoring up his defenses as best he can. ]

I'll give you all the time you need. We're brothers, aren't we?

Of course we are! They just-they're so domineering, its hard to keep them from getting like this- [He gestures at the snarling beast.]

They don't understand you're just freaking out, and them acting like this isn't going to help anything.

[Though now Donnie's probably out of the console-]

[There are the injuries. There's a lot of injuries.]

[And there's also strips of teal over his skin, looking like a snake coiling around him.]

[ Is the blue good? He hopes so ... it looks like Leo's ninpo.

He wishes he could heal. The best he can do is surge with his own ninpo and try to help that blue layer keep him together. ]

Do you really want to work with the Kraang like this?
