Bootyyyshaker9000: Socializing overall is a newish concept. We grew up fairly isolated, and while there's been more opportunity lately, this has been the place where its been safest to just socialize like normal people.

Bootyyyshaker9000: Yes, blue, red, purple, and orange.
Bootyyyshaker9000: Dad is white. April is yellow. I'm not sure how much he associates the others in our family to colors.

Bootyyyshaker9000: The white and yellow are good. I meant other people besides them. They're in our heroing business enough I have them color coded.
Bootyyyshaker9000: Bring me some stainless steel utensils from the kitchen ruins and I can make you some in less than twenty minutes.

[Donnie is at the forge behind Robin's Egg. There is a purple fan construct that is occasionally adding more air to the fire to boost its heat.]

[He's waiting nearby, sitting on a log and reading a book.]

[Notably, he also has two Bo Staves near him today.]

[He raises a hand in greeting, though doesn't look up from the book yet.]

[ touches down light and easy, a pillowcase of kitchen utensils safely in hand ]

[ but she otherwise keeps quiet, content to wait and peer with unabashed curiosity at both the extra bo staff and the forge ]

[He still doesn't look up for a few moments before, before pulling out a piece of cardstock and putting it in the book to mark his place and setting it aside.]

[He gets up, picks up the extra staff that's not on his back and moves over to the forge.] The fire should be hot enough soon. I'll need to see if Raph got the deer tar, I would be able to make an airtight pump then.

[He holds the staff out to her as he holds a hand above the fire, humming thoughtfully.]

Oh! [ despite her literally asking him to make this for her, there's legitimate surprise and delight as she sets down her bundle and takes the staff instead ] It's beautiful, thank you!

[ steps back to give it a few experimental twirls, testing the weight, balance, and feel of it in her hands ]

Of course its beautiful, nothing should be made ugly if its avoidable. [Even if its a simple Bo Staff in design, polished wood and purple wrappings, there can be care in simplicity.]

[He watches from the corner of his eyes and then grabs a pair of long tongs to pick up a ceramic bowl, moving over to the bundle to check for stainless steel material.]

[ flip, twirl, twirl — and then she slips seamlessly into a short series of bojutsu kata. she has been working so hard these past few years to Get Good at actually properly knowing her way around a staff in combat, and it shows. ]

[ inside the pillowcase is a whoooole bunch of stainless steel utensils, a couple of tupperware boxes, and ... a selection of kitchen knives, some with blue handles and some with yellow. ]

Help yourself to anything except those knives! Oh, and if you could leave one of the butterknives, too?

[He watches and nods to himself. Good, she has a foundational understanding.]

I am nothing, if not industrious. Also its nice to finally utilize water breathing. I could hardly do that in the polluted waters of New York, that would just be gross.

As I know my world doesn't have any turtles that can breathe under water ... Some of them can hold their breath for a really, really long time though! Is it different where you're from?

I am very interested if that's true, or you simply don't know the turtle species who can.

Most do just hold their breathes a very long time, but some species are able to draw oxygen from the water.

There is a limit to it. Like if you get one hundred percent of air necessary on land with each breath, my water breathing is getting ninety percent of it underwater. Eventually I'm not getting enough oxygen to function underwater and need to surface for a full breath.

But I can stay underwater for a full two hours, no need to take a breath or anything.

Longer if I'm asleep.
