Noise

It starts as just irritation. A metaphorical crawling under your skin. Things are too noisy, too bright, there is too much happening all the time and you can't take it all in-

Then silence it, make it yours, make it you, take control and destroy what will not submit

It sounds so inviting, a freedom from the noise, but its wrong, its wrong, its wrong and the noise is getting louder, mechanical and foreboding as it sees you, it knows you are there, and it wants to make you apart of it.

[It does indeed work!]

[It slows down the tentacles. They are still coming for him, but they are Much Slower.]

[The orange box is vibrating like mad.]

[ Crow is going to dodge the hell out of those tentacles going for him and make a mad dash to the orange box. ]

[Crow is not stopped on his travel to the orange glowing box]

[But he does feel something lash out, grab at his ankle, dig in]

You could be more than this. You could be strong. You could destroy all who stand in your way if you just give in.

[The offer is not overwhelming, though it is Tempting.]

[But the tentacle is too slow to get a firm enough grip that he can complete his journey regardless.]

[ It's only Tempting for a moment. But he thinks of something, a distant something he cannot wield or interact with-- not here-- but something azure and connected to his soul, wound inextricably with it. ]

I don't need your power.

[ And he kicks at whatever is digging into his ankle (with his other foot) and gets to the orange box, looking for an opening or any way to interact with it. ]

[The azure]

[Is extremely effective, it burns away the tentacle with an inhuman shriek and there is a brief pause to the assault]

[The box is completely sealed. There is no gap or opening, but its vibrating even harder after the flash of azure]

[ Crow doesn't have the time to stop, but he does send out a silent, likely-unheard word of "thanks" to a magical robot friend a world away.

Thanks, Ordine. You're always there for Crow when he needs you. ]

How do I interact with you--?!

[ He's reaching out to touch the box, all the while keeping an eye out for if and when the tentacles regroup. And, on a whim, he concentrates more on the azure. ]

[There is always just breaking the box, but honestly?]

[That works]

[Crow can feel it as he focuses on more on his connection to Ordine, as something reaches out in turn]

[A fiery orange, much like the words spoken in the cafeteria and with it comes brightness, hope, LIGHT]

[And the box bursts into flames, chains shooting out, bypassing Crow and forming a web of fiery metal between them and the tentacles.]

[And in kneeling in front of Crow is a small orange themed turtle, holding onto a nunchunk and also]

[Wearing glasses and a sweater. And seems to be made entirely of orange light, though thankfully he's not blinding to look at.]

This is not a productive way to deal with your trauma, Dee!

Or Mikey, but mostly Dr. Feelings. Donnie has internalized a lot more of Dr. Feelings then Mikeyisms for a more established manifestation in his psyche.

[The smile fades to something more serious.]

Yes. I can help support Donnie, but the ninpo can't get rid of the Kraang influence if Donnie himself isn't fighting it.

So I need to give him a reason to fight back. To trust that the power of his family and his friends is worth more than anything the Kraang can give him.

[ He glances over at those computer screens as he's talking to Dr Feelings. ]

That isn't the problem. Donnie does trust his family, and his friends as an aside, his ninpo wouldn't be working at all if he didn't.

We need the robot out. That's the cognitive part of Donnie's views of relationships.

[ Crow glances over at the anthropomorphic purple robotic box turtle. ]

That thing over there, yeah?

[ Crow is spinning his double saber in fancy twirls as he asks. ]

[Mikey nods.]

He was the second thing that went after the snake's corruption took hold. Then the Kraang took over.

Alright, just one more thing to clarify. Does "out" just mean "outta here," or "destroyed"?

[ These are two very different things and Crow's not interested in making things worse. ]

[The panic is obvious.]

Ohmigosh, no! No, if you destroy him or take him from this room, Donnie would need to start from scratch at figuring out how to relate and understand people. It already took sixteen years to make that chasm only half the room!

I meant we need to free him from the tentacles. He still won't be fully functional while sacrifice is out of control, but at least he'll be thinking twice!

[ Crow winks. ]

Don't worry, mission objective's clear now. Protect the robot turtle, free it from the influence of the tentacles.

[Mikey eyes dramatically, hand over his chest.]

[Then he looks to the tentacles.] We could fight it directly, but you'll risk infection.

And it already looks like it's resistant to physical attacks.

[ He saw how poorly effective his double saber was against it, not to mention prior evidence earlier in the real world.

Which means, reluctantly, he is sheathing his double saber. ]

They reacted when I thought about my connection with Ordine, but something tells me thinking about bonds with someone he's never met's not gonna help in the long term.

[ He eyes Mikey. ]

I don't suppose it'd help if you go hug it out with a robot?

I am the emotional support psyche and-or possibly mystical manifestation of his brother, but I can only do so much without the real Mikey around.

He needs someone whose present to reach out.

Are you willing to do that? [He looks at Crow and there is a serious, searching look. Donnie is often kind of at a loss with emotions.]

[This kid feels like he's reading Crow like a book.]
