Noise

It starts as just irritation. A metaphorical crawling under your skin. Things are too noisy, too bright, there is too much happening all the time and you can't take it all in-

Then silence it, make it yours, make it you, take control and destroy what will not submit

It sounds so inviting, a freedom from the noise, but its wrong, its wrong, its wrong and the noise is getting louder, mechanical and foreboding as it sees you, it knows you are there, and it wants to make you apart of it.

[He nods and he lets out more chain extend out from the nunchuck, getting read to move.]

Let's roll, baby.

Alright. One..... two... three!

[ And Crow makes a run for the robot turtle. ]

[Mikey tugs on the chains, the web turning into a nunchuck that returns in an instant as he rushes forward and lashes out the other end, this time the fiery chain digging into the tentacles, wrapping around them and there is inhuman shrieking as Mikey pulls to clear the way.]

[Tentacles try to reach for Crow, but they're pulled back just in time with the burning chains.]

[There is minimal coverage on the robot.]

[ Crow reaches out and grabs the robot turtle's.... whatever is closest to a "hand." ]

We're teammates, right? So c'mon, let's get you away from those.

[He does have a hand, he is actually surprisingly Mikey shaped. Taller, lankier, like if Donnie was a box turtle over spiny softshell.]

[There is a response as Crow grabs the hand, fingers curling around his hand.]

[ Crow grabs on tight and pulls the robot towards him and hopefully away from the tentacles. It's not a hug, but this is Crow-- he's not really equipped to hug anyone. But he's pulling him in closer and towards the Mikey facsimile. ]

I won't let go no matter what, you hear me? You're an important member of Robin's Egg. Don't you think it's past time we started to figure out what that team means? And not just you. Me, too. I'll work with you if you work with me.

[Hesitation, the robot being pulled, but the tentacles not quite giving away.]

[A roar from the abyss, a cacophony of different sounds, indiscernible to identify.]

He's telling the truth! [Mikey shouts, and there is More In His Words, guidance, a trust in something Deeper.]

[The robot's eyes open, a glowing purple light behind them.]

[A burst of purple and azure around them, and there's inhuman shrieking as the tentacles are suddenly burnt and driven back to the far corners of the room as the robot stumbles towards Crow.]

[ Crow's true to his word-- he keeps his hold on the robot's hand the whole time, grinning when the purple and azure burst around them, driving back the tentacles. ]

Now that's what I'm talking about! The power of teamwork, baby!

[ He lets out a cheer, pumping his free hand in the air. ]

That's the way, baby! [Mikey is in agreement.]

Thank you, Crow! [And here is a robot, who sounds exactly like Donnie, except his voice is]

[Very clearly emotional. There is no flatness, there is no filter, there is only Pure Emotion.]

[Which is why Crow is getting a bear hug and spun in the air.]

[ Crow's eyes widen as he's spun around. ]

--Whoa!

[ He's not fighting back, he's just. Startled. ]

[He's laughing, and he'll put down Crow.]

Sorry, sorry, you aren't much for hugging, right? I just don't get to be so unrestrained about it with anyone outside of family, and even then, they're hard.

Heh. Don't worry, you're fine.

[ He means it. ]

I'll never admit this out loud again, but I don't actually hate hugs. I just don't know how to handle 'em.

[He nods sagely.]

I get that.

Here, its fine. I don't have my nerves trying to tell me that it hurts.

[He's draping over Dr. Feelings Mikey. His sweater and glasses have returned.]

But good of you for trying to respect boundaries while wanting to indulge.

I try.

'Ppreciate it.

[ Crow hesitates a moment, then reaches up and slips his stupid bandanna off his head and holds it out to robo-Donnie. ]

So, how's about a token of that promise? To figure out what "Robin's Egg" means to both of us.

[Oooh]

[He perks up at that and]

[He will let go of Mikey and he will come and take the bandanna.]

...I don't think I can actually give you anything and have it stay.

[But he will take the bandanna and tie it to his arm.]

But I want that. Robin's Egg deserves to feel like a place people can feel like they belong.

I don't need a physical reminder. I'll keep it inside.

[ .... ]

I can't promise you I'll be very good at this. But.... it's worth it to try.

[He chuckles sheepishly and looks over to the chasm.]

I'm probably not going to be very good either. I have to do a lot of fishing from there. [He rubs at his cheek sheepishly, even if its robotic.]

[Then a pause.]

Especially since-

What has Sacrifice been doing?! [He turns to the computer consoles with a look of horror, rushing over.]

Its finally registered...

Yeaaaaah..... sounds like you've missed a few things.

[ He's following behind, hands behind his head. ]

It was pretty obvious to most people something was wrong though, I'll tell you that.

[He gets to the computer console and as he touches the keyboard, the screens change, with icons of the various people in snek and from home. There's a number with red under them]

[Crow will know it was those who were in the bunker, plus Leo]

[He's tapping away, and there's images of the bunker.]

[Donnie groans, head thudding against the screen.]

Where's Selfishness?!

Sacrifice took him out first.

Godammnit! That stupid snake!

Yes!

[He sighs, leaning back.]

Sacrifice got corrupted by the snake, after the fire. And if he's strong enough to take out Selfishness, then... [He gestures to the Bunker episode.]

Selfishness is supposed to be a leash for both Sacrifice and Protectiveness. If he's not operating, then this happens.

[ Crow pauses. ]

Both....

[ He considers that for a moment, then pounds a fist into an open hand and grins. ]

Then I'll just have to get Selfishness back on his feet. Don't suppose you know the way?

...

[Donnie looks at Mikey. Mikey looks back.]

He's surprised us once.

[Donnie pauses and nods.]

You need to make the doorway.

But you need to go to morality. Our moral compass is determined almost exclusively by selfish desire.
