Noise
It starts as just irritation. A metaphorical crawling under your skin. Things are too noisy, too bright, there is too much happening all the time and you can't take it all in-
It sounds so inviting, a freedom from the noise, but its wrong, its wrong, its wrong and the noise is getting louder, mechanical and foreboding as it sees you, it knows you are there, and it wants to make you apart of it.
For a moment, there is quiet.
You breathe.
And fall through water.

Then silence it, make it yours, make it you, take control and destroy what will not submit

Re: Music
--Whoa!
[ He's not fighting back, he's just. Startled. ]
Re: Music
Sorry, sorry, you aren't much for hugging, right? I just don't get to be so unrestrained about it with anyone outside of family, and even then, they're hard.
Re: Music
[ He means it. ]
I'll never admit this out loud again, but I don't actually hate hugs. I just don't know how to handle 'em.
Re: Music
I get that.
Here, its fine. I don't have my nerves trying to tell me that it hurts.
[He's draping over Dr. Feelings Mikey. His sweater and glasses have returned.]
But good of you for trying to respect boundaries while wanting to indulge.
I try.
Re: Music
[ Crow hesitates a moment, then reaches up and slips his stupid bandanna off his head and holds it out to robo-Donnie. ]
So, how's about a token of that promise? To figure out what "Robin's Egg" means to both of us.
Re: Music
[He perks up at that and]
[He will let go of Mikey and he will come and take the bandanna.]
...I don't think I can actually give you anything and have it stay.
[But he will take the bandanna and tie it to his arm.]
But I want that. Robin's Egg deserves to feel like a place people can feel like they belong.
Re: Music
[ .... ]
I can't promise you I'll be very good at this. But.... it's worth it to try.
Re: Music
I'm probably not going to be very good either. I have to do a lot of fishing from there. [He rubs at his cheek sheepishly, even if its robotic.]
[Then a pause.]
Especially since-
What has Sacrifice been doing?! [He turns to the computer consoles with a look of horror, rushing over.]
Its finally registered...
Re: Music
[ He's following behind, hands behind his head. ]
It was pretty obvious to most people something was wrong though, I'll tell you that.
Re: Music
[Crow will know it was those who were in the bunker, plus Leo]
[He's tapping away, and there's images of the bunker.]
[Donnie groans, head thudding against the screen.]
Where's Selfishness?!
Sacrifice took him out first.
Godammnit! That stupid snake!
Re: Music
Re: Music
[He sighs, leaning back.]
Sacrifice got corrupted by the snake, after the fire. And if he's strong enough to take out Selfishness, then... [He gestures to the Bunker episode.]
Selfishness is supposed to be a leash for both Sacrifice and Protectiveness. If he's not operating, then this happens.
Re: Music
Both....
[ He considers that for a moment, then pounds a fist into an open hand and grins. ]
Then I'll just have to get Selfishness back on his feet. Don't suppose you know the way?
Re: Music
[Donnie looks at Mikey. Mikey looks back.]
He's surprised us once.
[Donnie pauses and nods.]
You need to make the doorway.
But you need to go to morality. Our moral compass is determined almost exclusively by selfish desire.
Re: Music
[ He considers. ]
I got a picture of "family and friendship" and ended up here. So to get to morality....
Re: Music
You can get material from here. Though you don't need it to be necessarily physical. Part of why you got here is because I have most of Mikey's influence here and he's an artist.
Re: Music
[ Crow's going to do some EXPLORING-- checking out the rhythm games and the music systems, touching anything that looks like it could be potentially useful. ]
Hmmm.... doesn't have to be physical, though.... like maybe concentrating on moral choices? Like maybe that time with Suyeong and the hostage game.
Re: Music
[There are many devices. The machines are the machines they appear at first glance, but interaction does bring emotions. Particularly in relation to whatever song seems to be set for that machine.]
[There is joy, the rush of rhythm and patterns and how you can apply the same to people. Just like you learn the beat of music, you can learn the beat of people, you just need to be around them long enough and every once and a while, you can guess the next lyric of their song and you're so proud when you do.]
[There's a sad song, where the words are hard to hear, where you're never sure what someone means, what they want, and you say or do the wrong thing and like singing offkey, it causes discord between you and others.]
[There's rage, something lonely, where you just want to connect, you want to be close to people, you want to value and be valued in return and its a crash of lyrics and impulses.]
[More continues like that.]
Re: Music
[ Crow considers for a long moment, then considers before he reaches out to combine a rage device with a thought-- one of Crow's own, but maybe it'll work anyway.
It's a memory Donnie's seen before, but it's selfishness and it's vengeance and it's a deliberate choice to do the wrong things for the wrong reasons. To ignore what he knows is right for what he wants.
And he also thinks about portals. ]
Re: Music
[A grey doorway.]
You did it!
Re: Music
Then I'll be heading on. But don't forget-- even if I'm not here physically, I'm still with you. Okay?
[ And then he'll open the door. ]
Re: Music
[You are getting another hug.]
Its all right if you don't know what to do with hugs.
But thank you. I believe you, the whole thing about the ninpo is not needing to be physically there.
Be safe, all right? I'm going to see what I can mitigate.
[But then he'll step back.]
[And Crow is free to go.]
Re: Music
I can do safe.
[ And then he turns around and he's off. ]
