Noise

It starts as just irritation. A metaphorical crawling under your skin. Things are too noisy, too bright, there is too much happening all the time and you can't take it all in-

Then silence it, make it yours, make it you, take control and destroy what will not submit

It sounds so inviting, a freedom from the noise, but its wrong, its wrong, its wrong and the noise is getting louder, mechanical and foreboding as it sees you, it knows you are there, and it wants to make you apart of it.

You breathe.

[They do indeed have power sources. Batteries are, in fact, always a must.]

[As she decides these are materials, they all disappear into the crafting box as materials for use.]

[Might as well check out a fridge, too. These she knows less about - thinks maybe there's chillwater, the same as the machines she knows use for coolant.]

[There is no coolant in these, but there IS a compressor. Also some plastic good for sealing things, and lightbulbs. Also a little computer for the water/ice dispenser.]

Huh...strange design. But it does have a processor, of some sort.

Compressor and plastic, she likes that. Thinks twice before taking lightbulbs, but.]

Could come in handy.

[Never underestimate what you can use. There is a feeling of certainty in there.]

Only then does she actually start looking around for, you know. Non-loot.]

This is good. Wonder if anyone else has been through here?

[She is still in the junkyard slash quarry. There are more machines and there's stuff like rocks and raw ore about, though that is hard to see at the moment.]

[Hmm. Well - she'll investigate machines further, trying to find something that stands out.

More than once, she likely misjudges her footing, making frustrated sounds.]

[It takes a little digging, but she does start to find things that stick out from the rest. Most of the machines are what would be in a modern junkyard.]

[But deeper in, there will be machines that are definitely more advanced. Lasers, super appliances, a self cleaning toothpick???? Weapons and spy drones and tracking devices.]

[But those devices are covered in vines-]

[Or so they appeared, but closer inspection shows those vines have Eyes.]

[We both know you feel things plenty. You can pretend you have no emotions all you want, but eventually you have to face them. You can't just bury them forever. And you know if I have to dig, I will if you won't come up yourself.]

[!!! The good old world tech! But...] I'll have to get these vines out of the way, first.

[...She jerks away with a little surprised shout when she realizes there's eyes on those vines.

And then her stance goes low when she hears the voice - but eventually, she straightens. She's heard voices from Somewhere Else before, too.]

Okay...Don't know who that is. Guess I won't wait on this.

[Crafting menu, please. She's going to try making a shock trap.]

If I remember this right...The power source. Wire. And if I expose the elements inside these lights, they should make good sparkers.

[Sounds legit enough. Have A Shock Trap! You will be able to make a reasonable amount for the supplies you're using.]

Shouldn't need to dig at all. The way I see it, there's just one thing in the way, here.

[If there's enough for it, she'll try to make three - and if not, well. She's still got immediate plans for the first one.]

[Because as soon as she's done crafting, she's going to activate a trap, wait to see a spark, and huck it at those vines.]

Let's see if those things like this.

[Three traps sound about right.]

[There is an inhuman screech from the tentacles.]

[They loosen their grip on the tech.]

[But they're also now moving for ALOY.]

Figures. Come on, let go.

[Boy, she'd love to have her normal precision. Makes it easier to go dodging close to things she's pissed off. Prime the second trap, try to lob that at the ones still at the tech, too.

And then she'll turn, scrambling for cover behind a car.]

[Its very hard to dodge when your eyes are messed with.]

[She lobs the trap, there's another inhuman shriek-]

[And there's something that grabs her ankle, digs in quick and deep, to her skin and]

[You can hear whispering all around you. With one sentiment coming through.]

You could be so much more than this.

[Its not an overwhelming sentiment, but it IS tempting.]

[She gasps when it digs in, and - hesitates.

Because she's supposed to be Sobeck. All things are possible, with Sobeck.

But since it's not overwhelming, she'll tense back up momentarily.]

Already too much to handle.

[So. Is this a bad idea? Most plans are. She didn't make a melee weapon, so she's grabbing for the next best thing, the tool she was prying parts off the car with, and attempting to jam that thing into the damn thing at her ankle.]

[Its not a weirdly good wrench, its just a wrench and she will need to wrack hard and fast and will probably bruise up her ankle to escape.]

Drop her last trap to try and buy time.

Attempting, with her poor vision, to dig into the trunk to try and find the ancient weapon known as a tire iron.]

Hey guess who thinks it's perfectly normal to dig into her crafting menu in the middle of a fight.

Tire Iron + compressor + metal shards? She thinks this would be a good recipe for a shard spewer.]

Need something with piercing.

[Its probably disheartening how the tentacles are not getting torn to shreds like most things would be. Whatever these things are, they're hardy as fuck.]

[The shard spewer is, however, keeping them at bay.]

[Grimacing - but okay. It at least fends them off.

She's going to try, one more time, to get to the tech. If she can just get her hand on something - a spy drone to help with her vision, a laser, something...!]
