Noise
It starts as just irritation. A metaphorical crawling under your skin. Things are too noisy, too bright, there is too much happening all the time and you can't take it all in-
It sounds so inviting, a freedom from the noise, but its wrong, its wrong, its wrong and the noise is getting louder, mechanical and foreboding as it sees you, it knows you are there, and it wants to make you apart of it.
For a moment, there is quiet.
You breathe.
And fall through water.

Then silence it, make it yours, make it you, take control and destroy what will not submit

If it's about my place with family...that's going to take some thought.

Re: Kraang
When Aloy decides, she pulls up her crafting menu and selects a little more metal from the turtle tank. Then she puts in a memory: when Aloy stopped thinking of Beta as another clone, and started thinking of her as a sister.
Beta is huddled in the base’s server room, which Beta has claimed as her own. The two have been fighting. What part of Elisabet is Beta missing, that she can’t stand up and do what needs to be done, like Elsabet did - like Aloy does? And Aloy has decided, it’s Rost. She was raised by someone who cares. She’s showing Beta a hologram of the man.
Aloy: He loved me in his own way. And that was enough.
Beta: What did it feel like?
Aloy: . . .It was like having a strength that was always there. That’s still there. Even now, I hear him in my head when things get bad. “When it looks impossible, look deeper. And then fight like you can win.”
Aloy moves to sit next to Beta, resting her arms on her knees. Beta turns, and mirrors her. They look at the lost father figure as the old recording shows him turning to walk away - and Aloy ends the projection. They stay sitting, together. This is the moment she consciously thinks of her as a sister.
Aloy: You don’t have to go on the mission. We’ll find another way.
Quiet.
Beta: . . . I’ll go. You said you’d try to protect me. I believe you.
She shifts, closer to Aloy, more to her front.
Beta: But you have to promise me one thing.
Aloy, instantly: Yes. Of course.
Beta: If it goes bad. If the Zeniths find us. I don’t want to be their slave again. Do you understand?
Aloy: . . .Okay.
Beta: Promise?
Aloy: I promise.
Touch is rare for Aloy, but in this moment? She reaches out, and puts a hand on her shoulder. Just for a moment, but to Aloy, it’s a LOT.
Beta: I could use as much time as you can give me to study up on the merge, to make it as efficient as possible.
Aloy stands, and this time, she takes Beta’s hand to help her up. They’re united now, in a way.
Beta: I’ll be ready when you are. I swear.]
