Foundling: It's only natural things would get tenser for the fence-sitter cultists now that some of us sacrifices have proven we can slip out of their god's grasp. Can't just sit idly by and assume things'll work out for their god now. Foundling: Run that last bit by me again, though? I mean, first of all: did your teammates, at any point before you tried that strategy, ask the other teams if they were aware you wanted to try it, much less attempt to persuade them to cooperate with it? Because a strategy like that cannot be implemented by one team and one team alone unless that team already plans to self-sacrifice to prove their point, and believes their point can be made just as well if they do. Foundling: ... I'm speaking from experience. Mouse never once tried to make a stand like that, without first talking to anyone else, that we didn't anticipate losing horribly by taking.
Bootyyyshaker9000: i dont know if there was time to even attempt communication. racer was hurt before the game but i didnt have time to do more than note that fact before it was game time Bootyyyshaker9000: cards ended up weird to dramatically alter scores thought we were just going to make it less bad for cricket over taking their place Bootyyyshaker9000: i havent decided if i regret it or not Bootyyyshaker9000: we were the only ones to do the play Bootyyyshaker9000: that may be important someone at least tried Bootyyyshaker9000: unfortunately suffering the consequences because someone had to try and not be able to rely on the community is the life i signed up for Bootyyyshaker9000: egg nor i has ever been good at getting community support so we cant make that a factor because the chances are it will never happen Bootyyyshaker9000: that is the real downside to being 'Good.'
Foundling: Wouldn't know about that. I've never once claimed, or wanted, to be 'good', such as that word gets applied. Kind, maybe. Fair, for certain. But 'good' isn't a word they'll use much when they write my biography, except to describe what I wasn't. Foundling: The thing is, you ask to bear people's burdens, it doesn't matter what your reasons. The end result's the same. You take the weight on your shoulders, and you bear it. And there's no shame in buckling under, only regret. If you wanted my perspective, that's my perspective. At least you tried, even if trying leads to regretting it. Foundling: Regret, as it happens, is easier to live with than shame. Damnably so, perhaps - I've known plenty of 'good' men who've consigned themselves to a hell of their own making because of it. Most of them would fit right in on Robin's Egg, I expect. Foundling: Again: the best way to ease such a burden is to share it. If you don't explain what you're trying to do to other people, of course you're not going to get other people's help with it. If you don't have time, then that's not your fault. But they're still not likely to lift a finger, since they won't understand what they're looking at till it's too late and the result's already in front of them. You know how people are, Donnie. You have to tell it to them plainly, or they'll never understand it, and if they don't understand it, they won't prioritize it over their more immediate concerns. There's no point blaming them or yourself for something that simply couldn't be avoided under the circumstances. Foundling: ... could be there's something we can do from our end about the trouble within his cult, though. So thanks for that news. I'll pass it on.
Bootyyyshaker9000: huh Bootyyyshaker9000: suddenly i realize why im so high on eggs emotional competency scale maybe Bootyyyshaker9000: shame and i dont talk much Bootyyyshaker9000: you are kind by the way Bootyyyshaker9000: and better idea anyway being good bites but I have too many good influences in my life to not make the attempt when others are trying as well Bootyyyshaker9000: its a bit of a rule to try and be good when others are unless someone has to be the bad guy and there was enough of a chance to not justify shutting Tryse's idea down Bootyyyshaker9000: i dont blame her or others its the cult who did this its just Bootyyyshaker9000: its always disappointing when things dont work with the community and i dont know if i can say it plain enough. Bootyyyshaker9000: my track record doesnt give me much hope Bootyyyshaker9000: those times were purely for community benefit I couldnt even think of how to begin on the 'maybe we can change the cultist' conversation

Bootyyyshaker9000: cards ended up weird to dramatically alter scores thought we were just going to make it less bad for cricket over taking their place
Bootyyyshaker9000: i havent decided if i regret it or not
Bootyyyshaker9000: we were the only ones to do the play
Bootyyyshaker9000: that may be important someone at least tried
Bootyyyshaker9000: unfortunately suffering the consequences because someone had to try and not be able to rely on the community is the life i signed up for

Bootyyyshaker9000: suddenly i realize why im so high on eggs emotional competency scale maybe
Bootyyyshaker9000: shame and i dont talk much
Bootyyyshaker9000: you are kind by the way
Bootyyyshaker9000: and better idea anyway being good bites but I have too many good influences in my life to not make the attempt when others are trying as well
Bootyyyshaker9000: its a bit of a rule to try and be good when others are unless someone has to be the bad guy and there was enough of a chance to not justify shutting Tryse's idea down
Bootyyyshaker9000: i dont blame her or others its the cult who did this its just
